Migraine and High Blood Pressure Up Cardiovascular Risk
Are you aware?
An Italian study released earlier this year has provided us with more definitive proof why Migraine disease needs to be taken much more seriously. As if the US annual direct and indirect economic costs weren’t enough ($31 billion dollars a year and growing) we can now add an increase risk of cardiovascular events if you have Migraine and high blood pressure. That’s correct. This cross-sectional study (a mixed population of people) shows the frequency of high blood pressure and Migraine is quite considerable and patients in the study with co morbid Migraine and high blood pressure have a greater likelihood of cardiovascular events when compared to people with just high blood pressure. Teri has written a good summary of this study, you definitely want to read at MyMigraineConnection.com
Thanks for reading and feel well,
