Botox Approved for Migraine Prevention
Migraine prevention has just taken a giant step forward. Onabotulinumtoxin A, better known as Botox, was approved Friday October 15, 2010, for Migraine prevention in adults. With over 37 million Americans suffering from Migraines, this is welcome news.
As Botox use became more popular within the last ten years for cosmetic purposes (wrinkle reduction), it was also noted some patients experienced fewer Migraines. Studies soon began to see if Botox was a viable option for Migraine treatment. And it was - Botox is now FDA approved for adults suffering more than 15 Migraines a month.
As promised here is the information from Teri Robert: FDA Approves Botox for Migraine. Very exciting news.
